The vanguard that L7 once was, served not only as the inspiration for many (including yours truly) sidelined and disempowered young girls, but also a tether to some form of sanity and self-perception at the time when being a self-contained person was considered an antiestablishment notion.

Live Through This is what, in my personal view, the punk-rock movement of the 20th century crescendoed into. Anything I may say about this, either have been repeated a plethora of times before, or will be insufficient in lieu of listening to the album yourself.
Pretty on the Inside also deserves a place of praise, if separate from Live Through This' fame


Bloody Kisses was a strong contender for October Rust's place, but I just like the latter's darker, drone-y tone all too much not to praise it over Bloody Kisses.
Many years past, In Praise of Bacchus and Haunted still never fail to evoke shivers down the spine and rip the listener away from the Wherever and the Whenever they are listening to Steele's lullabys.


Political war cries of the trailblazers El Corazón Del Sapo, for which Fer was sentenced to a year in prison, still thunder just as loud, if not growing even more relevant as time ages them, much to the dismay of those who once sought to silence them.


In their time, slant 6's abrasive lyrics and the "dirty-clean" sound both served as as a bitter reality check for many and cast a lifeline for some. They hold a very special nook in my heart.
Substance-wise, soda pop * rip off runs laps around Inzombia for me personally, but I'll die on the hill of the mixing being so much better in the latter.
